Located a short walk from the Beacon Landing Marina and the shores of Lake Granby, Charlie’s Cabin, by Mountain Vacation Lodging, is a beautifully updated and pet friendly 4-Bedroom home with living room and a game room. New to the rental market in July 2024, you’ll enjoy this freshly renovated and stylishly remodeled home. Please read on for more details.
The Property:
Charlie’s Cabin is laid out on two levels of living space for your group. On the upper level the rooms feature vaulted ceilings and a more spacious feel. Here you’ll find the living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and the first bathroom. The lower level includes 2 more bedrooms, another bathroom, plus the game room with a dartboard and shuffleboard table. The kitchen is brand new for summer 2024, and fully equipped for the chef in your group. It includes a large island with dining for 5 and lots of counter space, plus there’s a separate coffee bar. From the farmhouse sink to the stainless steel appliances, this space is quite nice. For a more more formal dining experience, the home also includes a convertible dining table that is big enough for 8 to 10 people, but converts into a small entry table when not in use. In the living room, a large sectional sofa provides enough seating for 6 or more, while the large HDTV and wood burning fireplace make the space a warm and cozy place to relax.
Bedrooms 1 and 2 each feature a king size bed, dresser or chest, and closet, plus one of them has a log frame gliding rocker, perfect for groups who are traveling with a baby. These first two bedrooms share the full bathroom that includes new fixtures, lighting, vanity, marble tile, and a bathtub/shower combo with beautiful subway tile. Bedroom 3 has a Double size bed, also called a Full size bed. Bedroom 4 offers custom built bunk beds. With 1 double (full) size bed, and 3 twins, this fourth bedroom could work well for a couple, singles, kids, or a mix. This room also has a wall mounted HDTV for entertainment purposes. Please note that this home does not have satellite or cable. However, all TVs are equipped with a Roku device so that you may easily stream your favorite content. The home has very good wifi, typically over 300 mbps.
The outdoor living is on two levels as well. A large deck spans the width of the home. This elevated space offers Lake Granby views as well as outdoor living and dining furniture. The deck also creates a shady respite for the patio below, which also features furniture for you to relax upon. Don’t forget the yard, which includes a firepit where your group can relax and recall the day’s adventures, or make some smores for the kids.
Location:
Charlie’s Cabin is in a small residential area adjacent to Lake Granby, where being respectful of neighbors will be important. You can easily walk over to the Beacon Landing marina to rent a boat, canoe, visit the bait & tackle shop, or book a guided fishing trip. If you have your own boat, contact them to reserve an overnight slip or mooring. This location is close to a lot of other attractions as well. The Roadhouse bar and grill is biking or walking distance, the Idleglen trailhead for the Stillwater Pass Trail System is just a couple miles away. Shadow Mountain Lake and its southern shore picnic sites are also just a couple miles away. The very quaint shops, restaurants, and activities of downtown Grand Lake are only 6 miles away, as is the western entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The county seat of Granby is only 10 miles to the south, and offers a multitude of dining options.
Arrival, Accessibility, and Parking:
Once you book, we're here to support you. We will provide you with arrival instructions, and answer any specific questions you might have. Accessing this property’s lower level only requires one step up, and the upper level requires one flight of stairs. Parking is all outdoor, but the long driveway allows plenty of room for 5 or more vehicles, as well as for boat or snowmobile trailers. Sorry, RVs or campers are not allowed. The roads which lead to and from this property are generally easy to navigate and well maintained. However, please note that your route to the area may include a mountain pass. When traveling during snow and winter weather conditions, 4 Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive and tires with good tread are recommended.

** Amenities - Some private or shared amenities may not be available for guest use during certain periods. Some amenities, when part of a property, may close daily, seasonally, or for maintenance. As such, all amenities can not be guaranteed to be available at all times. Please advise us when or before booking if you have questions about a specific property amenity so that we can give you the most accurate information possible for your dates.
** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Pets & Fees - “Pet Friendly” means Dog Friendly only. If a property is pet friendly, then a per pet, per night fee will apply. Some online booking sites, such as VRBO, do not allow us to list the maximum number of pets per property. If you are renting a pet friendly property, and will have more than one dog, please reach out prior to booking to verify if the home will allow more than one dog. Additional fees will apply for more than 1 dog.
** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.
** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. ** Lengthy Rental Periods, Cancellation Policies, & Cleaning Fees - Long Term Rentals (28 nights or more) may be unacceptable under the standard cancellation policies listed online, which are designed to be only for short term rentals. Long Term Rentals must be discussed and approved prior to booking online. A long term rental / lease agreement may be required. A Security Deposit will be required for all long term rentals, and mid-stay cleaning(s) / inspection(s) may be required. The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. For guests who are booking a lengthy stay of more than one week, a mid stay-cleaning fee equal to the final cleaning fee may apply for the second week, third week, and so on.
